WIP Legend of Zelda Week One

This is my progress on the Light World Map from Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past after one week. I’ve done 2500 stitches. Which is about 0.025% of the complete piece.

I’ve figured out that to make my stitches even that I need to do one cross at a time. You can see that it starts out rough but gets more uniform towards the edges. That was a really important learning for me for working on these full coverage pieces.

I’ve abandoned doing things on the diagonal and replaced it with staggering the stitches. I’ve divided things up into these Tetris like patterns. It is hard to explain but I think doing things this way will keep page lines from showing.
